Providing affirming and supportive psychotherapy for adolescents, families, couples and adults.

About

Hi, I’m Alia (she/her). As a psychotherapist, I strive to create a safe and affirming environment to support my patients in their journey towards emotional growth and healing. Together, we will explore past and present experiences and relationships to gain insight into how they impact the lens through which you see the world. We will identify patterns and behaviors hindering your growth and build upon existing strengths to move towards long term change.

I am passionate about human connection, and strongly believe in the power of healing through self study. I value the attunement of mind and body, and rely on this connection to guide the evolution of each individual’s therapeutic path. I believe that therapy is a deeply personal and intimate experience, and I work to create an open, understanding, collaborative relationship with patients. I practice from an integrated therapeutic approach, drawing from psychodynamic and relational theories, as well as goal-oriented behavioral interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). If it feels healing, I focus on the attunement of mind and body, calling upon mindfulness and somatics if the patient determines that is what works for them.

With experience in private practice, community based mental health clinics, public schools, intensive outpatient treatment centers, carceral systems as well as inpatient treatment programs, I’ve had the opportunity to work with people of different racial, ethnic, religious, sexuality, gender, and neuro-physical ability identities. I am passionate about working with, and have grown my practice with a focus on neurodivergent folks, LGBTQIA+ identifying folks, sexual trauma survivors, individuals and couples. My practice scope also includes anxiety management, healing from family and relational trauma, life transitions, and improving relationships. Additionally, I have specialized training and experience, and deeply enjoy working with adolescents and their families. I am dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and parents or caregivers in their journey towards self-discovery and personal growth.

Please reach out if you think we’d be a good fit or if you have any questions.
